Artist's Comments

Some chest objects i made that could be used in castle or mansion dreams, although they could fit in with other themes too.

There are open and closed versions in two different sizes and directions, south-east and south west, and seperate fronts so that objects could be edited in in patch editor, or so that furres could sit inside them in dreams.
I'm still working on two more that are north-east and north-west facing, wich will be added to the patch when finished.
When those last ones will be added i might make the patch available for download, but if anyone would want to use them now just ask me and i'll see if i may share it.

Note : for experienced patchers, since objects need to be added to the patch file manually.

Now this kind of work just baffles me. Though amazes me at the same time! Reminds me of my old Mega Drive games...Being a traditional artist I tend to not be able to fathom what goes into the creating of stuff like this - is it pixel work? Care to explain what Furcadia Patch editor is to my feeble brain?

Furcadia patch editor is a program that comes with the online game Furcadia. The patch editor allows people to make their own objects, walls, floors and player avatars even customised portrets to add to their "dreams" which are user created maps. Furcadia itself is a roleplaying game, that is mostly text based (kind of like writing a story ) but you can walk around with your character. Now the characters as you may have guessed from the name are furries, and you can pick from a number of species for your player avatar...Lapines, equines, bovines, canines, felines, mustelids, rodents, squirrel as free avatars and there's also some you have to pay for like dragon, gryffe, phoenix and kitterwings ( a sort of feline fairies )
But back to the chests...
Yes they are mostly pixel works.
First i made the basic shape using the line tool, which is the easiest and fastest part often ) and then i put in some basic color and finish up by adding more colors and details pretty much pixel by pixel. I think it took me about....45 minutes to make one chest and another 20 minutes to edit some parts.
I'm quite pleased with how the inside worked out, i was trying to go for an effect of quilted padding but i couldn't get the effect by drawing the lines untill i tried a sort of chess board pattern with light and darker red squares, which have just the effect i was looking for ( you'll have to look from a bit more distance because the picture got enlarged somehow )
I'm having trouble with the open ones in the north-east and north-west facing directions because i can't seem to get that pattern of rivets on the lid right

:wow: A whole new world that I never knew existed..though Im surprised Shiv doesnt know much of it after I just asked her. It is furry related afterall. Ive never been one for role playing but it does sound like something that would perhaps be up her street.

Well i'm still on furcadia every now and then either as my fursona Fang Stormclaw or as my other character Marcus Foxglove, so perhaps i could give a tour someday =p
